Two uses of Blumer and Katzs theory in the Lego Movie Video Game

Blumer and Katzs theory in the Lego Movie Video Game

One of the uses of Blumer and Katzs is the relationship you and the game have. An example of this is the voice of Morgan Freeman and William Ferrell. Lord Business (who is voiced by Will Ferrell) and Vitruvias (who is voiced by Morgan Freeman) is presented very quickly in the game grasps the attention of adults who recognise there voice and who may of liked them in previous movies/TV they were in.

There are certain language the adults Lego Game mentions that will most likely fly over children's heads but may make the adults the chuckle. An example of this is when Lord Business mentions how this will reflect in there 'Performance evaluations'. Adults with a job will recognise this as they may be able to relate to it. One of the characters chosen at the beginning is Shake Spear adults may also recognise this.

Another use of Blumer and Katz is the feel of escapism. This game is very helpful to children who have had maybe a boring/rough/annoying day and want to escape from the reality that they are submerged in. This makes things possible that you are not able to do in the real world but able in the Lego world. Children and adults may be able to relate as they might have very strict parents or boss therefore representing Lord Business who seems to frown upon the use of creativity.

MOJO MAGAZINE - DAVID BOWE -

When the reader firsts set their eyes on the front cover of this magazine, they instantly know that this magazine was made by MOJO, this takes a big portion of the page up, even though they have placed David Bowie in front you are still clearly able to read the title. If the title however were in front of Mr Boweis face it would look wrong and unprofessional.  The other way big text is used on the front page is the main 'BOWIE' at the front of the magazine so the consumer instantly knows that this article is a bout David Bowie.

All around the magazine there are hints subconsciously to help the consumer to buy this product. An example of this is 'FREE CD!' this makes the consumer more vulnerable to buy the product as people find it very hard to ignore a deal, an example of this is black Friday sales. They have also used different colour to help the text stand out to the reader, and the rest of the page.

The choice of clothing that Mr Bowie is wearing is a very strong blue this contrasts well with the white to blue background and doesn't make it to harsh on the readers eyes when they first pick up the product. There seems to be an awful lot of things happening all over the magazine however they have kept the centre along with the main part of Mr Bowies body clear from text. This gives a clean look not only to Mr Bowie but for the magazine in total.
